Hey everyone! I'm Emma from France, and I've been volunteering at Slave Raškaj for almost 2 weeks now. Communicating with the kids has been a bit challenging, because they don't speak English, and I don't speak Croatian, but the teachers and staff have been amazing in helping me connect with them.

On December 20, 2023, an exhibition of posters on the topic of positive integration of refugees was held in the high school. As part of the partnership with the UNHRC, an exhibition of posters by the cult Croatian designer Boris Ljubičić was realized, the opening of which was on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in elementary school Horvati in Zagreb.

The period before Christmas was full of obligations. In addition to helping the users with their daily movements, I also participated in the preparations for the Christmas event and the Christmas market, which are traditionally held in the elementary school every year.

Christmas performance was held in the elementary school. Our students prepared numerous interesting and creative performances. Parents also had the opportunity to visit the Christmas market where the creative works of our users from the Day Center were exhibited.

The Christmas spirit is still present in our school. The students were making final preparations for the Christmas market. At the workshops, we made Christmas wreaths from pine branches. We had a great time and we are glad that we had the opportunity to show the works of our students.

n the period from 12.12. until 13.12. the ambassador of the European Solidarity Forces project "Unstoppable 2023" and I had the opportunity to present the "European Solidarity Forces" project to social work students in Zagreb. The lecture was very interesting.

Last week, in the period from December 11 to 15, we attended the On Arrival training in Orahovica, which was organized by the "European Solidarity Forces". We met other volunteers from other countries and organizations, got to know their cultures and exchanged our experiences. The days were full and consisted of workshops held every day.

It's December. Christmas spirit is spread throughout the school. Students and volunteers decorated the school and decorated the Christmas tree. What we would like to single out in particular are the preparations for the Christmas Fair, which will be held on December 16, 2023. at Knežija, where the handicrafts of our students will be exhibited.

On Saturday, November 26, 2023, I participated in the Indoor Para athletic Meeting which took place in the athletics hall at the Fair. I won 2nd place in the 60m sprint with a result of 8.14 seconds.

This month was filled with many interesting activities. On November 15, 2023, we hosted the participants of the Erasmus+ mobility project. The guests participated in a short introductory lecture through which we introduced them to the work of the high school.

As we reported earlier, our high school students had the opportunity, in cooperation with experts, to listen to a lecture on the importance of the month of the fight against addiction, which takes place from November 15 to December 15. Encouraged by the lecture, we decided to hold a quiz on the topic of the fight against addiction in order to check how well our students have acquired knowledge on the topic of addiction.

Last week, I visited the students on professional practice to record and photograph how they prepare cakes, which we will later add to their digital resumes. This time I filmed two schoolgirls preparing American cookies and recorded every step in their preparation.
