Chandeleur (Candle mas), celebrated on February 2nd, is a cherished tradition in France centered around crêpe making. Monday the 5th of February, with pastry students we made crêpes under the guidance of the pastry teacher.

Hey, it's Emma, the French volunteer in the school ! To better introduce myself I had the pleasure of introducing myself, my hometown, and the French culture.

My volunteering at the Slava Raškaj Education Center is coming to an end. This was a wonderful experience for me. Through volunteering, I participated in numerous workshops on different topics. I liked the workshop where we worked on wood the most. I also very often helped other users of the day center to get around.

Last week, I visited one of the students on professional practice to create a digital resume that will make it easier for her to present herself and her culinary skills to potential employers. The student prepared several dishes and every step of the preparation was recorded.

Our dedicated volunteers have orchestrated a Valentine's crafting workshop in collaboration with our students. The participants engage in crafting heart garlands, red paper hearts, and Valentine's Day cards.

Hey everyone! I'm Emma from France, and I've been volunteering at Slave Raškaj for almost 2 weeks now. Communicating with the kids has been a bit challenging, because they don't speak English, and I don't speak Croatian, but the teachers and staff have been amazing in helping me connect with them.

On December 20, 2023, an exhibition of posters on the topic of positive integration of refugees was held in the high school. As part of the partnership with the UNHRC, an exhibition of posters by the cult Croatian designer Boris Ljubičić was realized, the opening of which was on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in elementary school Horvati in Zagreb.

The period before Christmas was full of obligations. In addition to helping the users with their daily movements, I also participated in the preparations for the Christmas event and the Christmas market, which are traditionally held in the elementary school every year.

Christmas performance was held in the elementary school. Our students prepared numerous interesting and creative performances. Parents also had the opportunity to visit the Christmas market where the creative works of our users from the Day Center were exhibited.

The Christmas spirit is still present in our school. The students were making final preparations for the Christmas market. At the workshops, we made Christmas wreaths from pine branches. We had a great time and we are glad that we had the opportunity to show the works of our students.

n the period from 12.12. until 13.12. the ambassador of the European Solidarity Forces project "Unstoppable 2023" and I had the opportunity to present the "European Solidarity Forces" project to social work students in Zagreb. The lecture was very interesting.

Last week, in the period from December 11 to 15, we attended the On Arrival training in Orahovica, which was organized by the "European Solidarity Forces". We met other volunteers from other countries and organizations, got to know their cultures and exchanged our experiences. The days were full and consisted of workshops held every day.
