My Volunteer Journey - March Highlights

Hello there! It's been a while since I last caught up with you.  So, what's been going on in March?

1. New roommate !

Well, I finally welcomed my roommate Lisa, who's also volunteering with kids in creative workshops at the Slava Raškaj Education Center. Having her around has been a refreshing change during my journey in Zagreb; solitude was starting to feel a bit overwhelming. We already had fun time together, visiting the city, Croatia and discover the night city of Zagreb !

2. Visit in the microvegetable farm

In terms of volunteering, I had the fantastic opportunity to visit a microvegetable farm near Zagreb, accompanied by Borna, who exudes passion for his products. Exploring eco-responsible microvegetable production was truly eye-opening and inspiring.

3. French meal

On a more culinary note, I played host to some students for a French-themed meal at my place. We indulged in classic dishes like gratin dauphinois, crepes, and a selection of French cheeses.

4. Zero Waste Catering lab project closing

Additionally, I dedicated a lot of time to wrapping up activities at the Zero Waste Catering Lab. From compiling data to creating summaries and handling administrative tasks, getting an overview of the project from inception to conclusion was both fulfilling and insightful.

5. Week-end in Pula

On the personal front, I enjoyed a trip to Pula with volunteers I met in Orahovica. Exploring the coastal beauty and discovering the charming Istria region, with its rich Italian influences evident in the architecture, was truly memorable.

6. Visit of my family

My family also paid me a visit in Zagreb; my aunt stayed for a week, and my parents joined for Easter. It was heartwarming to show them around the city I've called home for the past few months—I practically turned into a tour guide!  had the chance to discover the Zagreb event : Festival of Lights with them. Exploring Croatian cuisine proved a bit challenging for me as a vegetarian, but it was an adventure nonetheless.

Looking forward to sharing more adventures with you in April!
