I volunteered for two weeks at Slave Raškaj High School as part of the Unstoppable 2025 program, and it was one of the most meaningful experience at the beginning of my professional journey. During those two weeks, I actively participated in creative workshops with the students, took part in group discussions, and spent time building genuine connections with them. Through art, conversation, and shared activities, we created a safe and supportive environment where young people felt comfortable expressing themselves and being heard. I also worked closely with the school’s social worker, Brigita. As a social worker myself, this hands-on experience allowed me to step into my profession in a very real and practical way. It strengthened my communication skills, deepened my empathy, and gave me valuable insight into the everyday challenges young people face. That experience was more than just volunteering, it was the moment I truly realized that working with youth is not just my profession, but my passion. It marked the true beginning of my career as a social worker and confirmed my desire to dedicate my work to supporting, empowering, and advocating for young people. It was an incredibly beautiful, inspiring, experience that continues to shape the way I approach my work today.
