We recently got together in the garden for a hands-on project—building an insect hotel! It was a real group effort, with students from the Day Care Center, the High School of Slava Raskaj, and the Craft School working side by side.

To make the insect hotel, we started with a wooden frame and filled it with dry branches, pinecones, and pieces of wood with small holes—perfect for little insects to find shelter. As we worked, we shared ideas, helped each other out, and got our hands dirty.

But that wasn’t all—we also spent time tending to our flower beds. We sowed seeds, watered plants, pulled weeds, and tied up twine to support climbing plants. There was a lot to do, but working together made it enjoyable and rewarding.

This project wasn’t just about building something—it was about teamwork and inclusion. Everyone contributed in their own way, bringing skills and energy to the group. Gardening brought us together, and along the way, we learned about patience, care, and the importance of protecting nature.

Looking back, it’s great to see what we accomplished. Our insect hotel is ready for its tiny guests, and our plants are thriving. More than anything, we’ve strengthened connections, embraced teamwork, and taken a small but meaningful step toward supporting the environment.
