I feel that I haven't been in Croatia long enough to talk about this country, its culture and customs. However, I can give you my first impressions and tell you a bit about how I am adapting to life in this country. I think that so far the most difficult thing about living in Zagreb, and probably the only really bad thing I have found, is the cold weather. Sometimes I've wanted to explore more of the city and see new places, but the early nightfall and cold weather has made it difficult to do so. However, apart from that, in general it has been very easy for me to adapt to life in Zagreb. I have found that the lifestyle here and the character of the people are not very different from the Spanish, so I quickly felt at home here. I do find our timetables very different, for example at mealtimes, which are much later in Spain. But it hasn't been too much of a challenge.

The people have also made it very easy for me to adapt to the new city. In general, I have found everyone here quite open and friendly and always willing to help with whatever is needed. I think that's an essential part of the first few weeks to help you feel integrated. Besides, our tastes and leisure time are very similar: in Croatian and Spanish culture it is very important and necessary to meet our loved ones for a coffee or a beer frequently. We certainly have a lot of cultural differences, which make this country very interesting for me. But we also have a lot of key things in common that make me feel at home! This is a photo at the Museum of Contemporary Art during the Night of Museums celebrated in Zagreb last week. A great initiative during which Zagreb's museums open their doors during the evening for free!!!
