Dragi ljudi,
A dalje punom parom radimo do nadolazećeg nastupa u svibnju.

Dear people,
for a little over a month I have been preparing my little dancers for the upcoming performances. The first on the list is INKAZ. INKAZ is a meeting of cultural and artistic groups of people with developmental disabilities, and this year its 18th edition took place on April 24th. I prepared two dance numbers. I danced with the children to the song APT, and the preparation of the choreography itself was very simple for me. Why? Because the children were so eagerly awaiting the performance and the opportunity to show themselves that they absorbed everything like sponges. Something that we would learn at one training session, they gathered independently at home and practiced so that by the next training session they already knew without the need for much repetition. We used the time to choose costumes, take pictures, dance games and talk. Sometimes everyone is so eager to say something that they speak in the same voice, but here we introduced a fictitious microphone held by the person who is the only one who can speak at that moment. I prepared the second dance number with high school girls. Some had been studying it for a long time, and the group began to expand rapidly at the end of March. A new girl came to each training session. The training sessions were more and more cheerful, the atmosphere was relaxed. We often joked, shared ideas for performances, but also worked very hard. I saw potential in them and wanted them to push their limits and see how much they could actually do. I added a lot of exercises for learning movements and orientation on stage, which ultimately turned out to be excellent. On the day of the performance, we had a rehearsal in the morning, and the performance in the afternoon. It was anything but boring. The children were bursting with energy and excitement, and the high school girls had a slight nervousness. However, we melted that away by warming up and practicing together, and the food and drinks prepared for us by the INKAZ organizers were certainly welcome. I can only say the best about the performance itself. The children raised such an atmosphere in the hall that we heard clapping and singing during the dance, but we also saw others dancing with us. The children felt that energy, as did I, and I saw them full of adrenaline like little fireflies. I am especially proud of the older dancers. Most of them learned the choreography, spatial orientation and formation in less than a month, and faced performance anxiety - and still thrilled us. The audience greeted us all with huge applause. And we are still working full steam ahead until the upcoming performance in May.
